Image Converter
Convert between image formats
The essentials
The Image Converter switches pictures between PNG, JPG, and WebP so your files work everywhere — from strict upload forms to modern websites.
How to use it
- Add the image you want to convert.
- Choose the output format and, for JPG/WebP, a quality level.
- Convert and download the new file.
Pro tips
- PNG keeps transparency and sharp text; JPG is best for photos; WebP gives the smallest files.
- Converting JPG to PNG will not recover lost quality.
- Use WebP for websites — every modern browser supports it.
Behind the result
Conversion decodes the source image to raw pixels on a canvas and re-encodes it in the target format. Formats have real differences: PNG is lossless and keeps transparency, JPG is lossy and small, WebP offers both with the smallest files.
A worked example
An upload form rejects your WebP and demands a JPG.
- Input
- A 900 KB WebP screenshot.
- Output
- A 610 KB JPG at 90% quality that the form accepts.
